Reporting to our Cellar Manager, our new Cellar Hand must have completed and been successfully assessed in Certificate III in Wine Industry Operations or the equivalent and have demonstrated competency in all Cellar Hand Level 3 responsibilities across the full year of operations. Additionally, the Cellar Hand will have the capability to lead their assigned vintage area and provide direction and first line supervision to the casual vintage cellar team and will be able to operate all equipment within the winery without supervision.

It will be critical that our new team member has safety as top of mind, ensuring that all winery operations are practiced safely, working continuously on incident and accident prevention, reporting near misses and any incidents/accidents, and bringing forward ideas for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of WHS requirements and possess a safe and responsible work ethic.

Our new Cellar Hand will be able to competently perform tasks in maintaining cellar hygiene, safe chemical handling, preparing, and making additions to wine, vintage operations, and have an understanding between Centrifugal and Positive displacement pumps.

The following will be required:

  • High Risk Forklift licensed and a competent operator
  • Demonstrated knowledge of confined space procedures
  • Competency in performing any task in the Mollydooker Winery, including all M1-M4 tasks, according to Mollydooker procedures, without supervision
  • Must have the physical fitness and the ability to lift weight – e.g. lift and roll a barrel, lift and walk out hoses, walk up and down stairs on a regular basis, carry buckets etc.
  • Ability to lead and train more than 10 persons
  • Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid Australian work visa.

Schedule:

This position is a Permanent Part Time position; presently, the Cellar Hand schedule is on a 9-day fortnight.

Cellar Door Casuals

Bec Hardy Wines (BHW) is a fast growing, family-owned wine business based in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The company was recently named Regional Export Company of the Year, our second major business award in fifteen months.

As visitation to our Pertaringa cellar door grows, the BHW team is looking for Cellar Door Casuals to help promote our award-winning ranges of Bec Hardy and Pertaringa wines. We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of a fun team that continues to achieve great things! Sound like you?

Based at the company’s Pertaringa cellar door in McLaren Vale, this role will offer casual shifts on 1 to 2 days per week (mainly weekends and Public Holidays).

Skills and experience:

  • Excellent customer service, time management and communication skills
  • Passionate about delivering a first-class customer wine experience
  • Being a team player and able to work efficiently with people across different areas of BHW
  • Previous cellar door experience will be an advantage, but is not essential

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Exceeding our cellar door visitors’ expectations with outstanding customer service
  • Telling the Bec Hardy Wines and Pertaringa story
  • An ability to convert an outstanding experience into sales outcomes, including sale of our subscription wine club
  • Opening and closing of the cellar door, as well as maintain a tidy and welcoming environment
  • Accurate recording of day-to-day transactions at end of day reconciliation
  • Complying with Liquor Licence regulations and adherence to Responsible Service of Alcohol legislation

The successful candidate will have:

We are seeking a casual cellar door sales assistant to join our team at the DOWIE DOOLE Tasting Pod. Wine knowledge and WSET level 2 is preferred, but not essential. Must be available to work weekends.

THE ROLE

The position will be responsible for the data input, reconciliation and reporting on all aspects of the Company’s finances. The position reports to the Directors and will work closely with the sales and production teams and external accounting advisors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable; ensure accurate and timely bill payments.
  • Manage and monitor accounts receivable; including communicating with customers to ensure receivables are collected within agreed terms.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the trial balance and management accounts for quarterly and EOFY periods.
  • Attendance to all aspects of payroll management, including wage processing, superannuation, timesheet calculations and employee onboarding procedures.
  • Preparation of all monthly or quarterly activity statements for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office, including GST, WET and PAYG withholding reporting.
  • Attendance to reporting to other regulatory bodies, including RTWSA.
  • Attendance to inventory control procedure and product costing, including compilation of individual product costs and maintenance of inventory ledgers.
  • Maintenance of cashflow models for creditor payment planning.
  • Posting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
  • Ongoing reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, loans hire purchase liabilities and cash books.
  • Maintenance of spreadsheets containing financial or statistical information collected from various parts of the business.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Certificate or Degree in Accounting or closely related field.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet changing deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work autonomously and also in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
  • Numerical ability and data entry skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and adopt automation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated accounts processing experience with MYOB AccountRight software.

McLaren Vale Distillery is seeking a proactive Assistant Distiller to join our small but dynamic team.

Reporting to the Director/Head Distiller and working with our Marketing Manager and Finance Manager, we seek an individual who can work collaboratively with our team and who also has the ability to work independently.

Ideally you will have distilling experience and the necessary skills to take responsibility for:

  • Routine operation of the distillery, whilst looking ways to improve production processes
  • Quality Assurance
  • Warehouse management
  • Administrative tasks supported by your IT skills

This role involves a variety of hands-on distillery tasks, administrative tasks and cellar door operations.

This role is offered on a part-time basis, 3 days a week, with flexibility for the right candidte. The hourly rate offered will be based on experience.

DJ’s Grower Services is a leading Viticulture and Horticulture Agronomy and input supply business within the Elders Network. DJ's Growers is based in McLaren Vale and Woodside.

We have the requirement to offer paid internship positions to appropriately qualified Horticulture/Viticulture undergraduate and post-graduate students.

As an Agronomy business, we are looking for 2-4 Interns with a mature, practical understanding of the local industry from a field production perspective.

Ideally, these Students will:

  • Have ambition to pursue a career in local Horticulture/Viticulture.

Oliver’s Taranga are looking for a Warehouse Assistant in our busy wine warehouse in McLaren Vale.

  • If you have a keen attention to detail, love the idea of creating a premium gifting experience for our customers that really over-delivers- please get in touch.
  • Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be part of a small (but awesome) team and the role is located at our cellar door in McLaren Vale.
  • A forklift license is a bonus, but we are happy to train you if you don’t currently have one.
  • This is ideally a 4-5 day role (weekdays only), but there is flexibility including those looking to work some school hours. The role starts ASAP and will be subject to the relevant award rates.
